Care Instructions
Easy Care Instructions
To keep your Organic Flax Seed Nursing Pillow fresh and comfortable, care for the removable linen cover and flax seed insert separately.
Removable Linen Cover
• Machine wash: Remove the linen cover before washing.
• Wash gently: Use cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent.
• Avoid bleach: Do not use chlorine bleach or harsh fabric treatments.
• Air dry recommended: Lay flat or hang to dry to help preserve the linen fabric.
• Iron if needed: Use a medium-to-high linen setting while the fabric is slightly damp.
Flax Seed Insert
• Do not machine wash.
• Do not soak or immerse in water. Moisture can damage the natural flax seed filling.
• Spot clean only: If needed, gently clean the outer surface of the insert with a lightly damp cloth.
• Dry completely: Allow the insert to air-dry fully before replacing the linen cover.
• Air regularly: Periodically place the insert in a dry, well-ventilated area to keep it fresh.
• Keep dry: Store away from excess humidity and moisture.
Important: Never place the flax seed insert in a washing machine or dryer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the nursing pillow filled with?
A: Our nursing pillow combines naturally firm flax fiber with real flax seed. The flax fiber creates a supportive feeding surface, while the flax seed adds gentle weight and moldability to help the pillow settle comfortably around your body.
Q: Is the nursing pillow firm or soft?
A: It is designed to feel firm and supportive rather than soft and overly plush. The upper flax-fiber layer helps maintain a stable feeding surface while still allowing the pillow to adapt slightly to your preferred position.
Q: Why does the pillow have ties?
A: The linen ties help keep the pillow comfortably positioned close to your body during feeding. This reduces the need to constantly pull or reposition the pillow while nursing or bottle feeding.
Q: Can I use it for both breastfeeding and bottle feeding?
A: Yes. The pillow is designed to support your baby close to your body during both breastfeeding and bottle feeding.
Q: Can I adjust or shape the pillow while feeding?
A: Yes. The natural flax seed provides gentle moldability, allowing you to settle and shape the pillow into a comfortable position while the flax-fiber structure helps maintain firm support.
Q: Is the cover removable and washable?
A: Yes. The linen outer cover is removable and machine washable. We recommend washing it in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent and air drying whenever possible.
Q: Can I wash the flax seed insert?
A: No. The flax seed insert must not be machine washed, soaked, or placed in a dryer. Keep the insert dry and spot clean the outer surface only when necessary. Allow it to dry completely before replacing the linen cover.
Q: Is the pillow heavy because it contains flax seed?
A: The pillow uses flax seed strategically to provide gentle natural weight and stability rather than filling the entire pillow with seed. The combination of flax fiber and flax seed is designed to balance support, moldability, and everyday usability.
Q: Can I use the nursing pillow for infant sleep or lounging?
A: No. The nursing pillow is designed for active breast or bottle feeding while an adult caregiver is present. It should never be used for infant sleep, lounging, or left with an unattended baby.
Q: Can I use it for tummy time or sitting support?
A: No. This pillow is specifically designed and marketed for nursing and feeding. It is not intended for tummy time, infant lounging, sitting support, or sleep.
Q: What materials are used?
A: The pillow is made with a removable linen cover, a waxed linen inner shell, natural flax-fiber support filling, and real flax seed for gentle weight and moldability.
Q: Where is the nursing pillow made?
A: Each Wholesome Linen nursing pillow is handcrafted in Ukraine using natural flax-based materials and linen.
